Reading Room
- Listen

Reading Room is an ongoing radio show facilitated to create a thinking space on texts related to listening and sound practices on air, hosted by OOO (Out of Office) Radio. This recording is the third instalment in a series of broadcasts about topics of conviviality and community radio practices hosted by James Prevett and Samantha Lippett, together with artist and sociologist Karen Werner.
This episode is guided by the zine ‘Radios Appear’ by Fugitive Radio and is also informed by previous reading sessions centred on the texts ‘Tools for Conviviality’ by Ivan Illich (1973) and ‘A Micro-History of ‘Convivial’ Radio in Japan’ with Tetsuo Kogawa (2013).

Out of Office Radio (Samantha Lippett)
Out of Office (OOO) Radio is a mobile community radio station for experimental sound and curious ears.
Originating in Helsinki, it is a broadcast platform and set of tools that fit in a rucksack or bike trailer and that anyone can borrow to make their own radio. Simple to use and battery powered, everywhere becomes a studio or broadcast site.
OOO Radio has a focus on experimental sound and music, art, talks, conversation and things that do not find a place on conventional radio. Nothing is too strange, or too long.
