Evasive Space

Evasive Space is a multimedia site-specific performance-tool with the elements of poetry, spoken word and audio-visual art.
The anthropological context encourages us to be culturally sensitive, to interact with local architecture. Place making is necessary to perpetuate existing cultural visual habits and therefore create more unique and authentic spaces. The Minhocão case is a new experience of urban occupation in São Paulo, it evokes a strong sense of belonging and involvement, even in its contradictory and ambiguous aspect.
Through sound, word and performative tools we reflect about this space and start archiving before even leaving it. Hyper-urbanism and hyper-pollution feels like theater and tastes like a disease. Newcomers and inhabitants, both tribes are bound by solidarity in a place which is a kind of representation of a personal war. How to find “peace” by observing, feeling and absorbing the place?

I.
Space is not your friend.
It devours breath,
Licks the bones clean of meaning.
Belonging?
A joke told by dying stars,
Their laughter a radiation burn.

II.
Concrete doesn’t float here.
We strap ourselves in,
Weld dreams to metal tombs,
Pray to gods forged from algorithms—
All-knowing, all-silent, all-fraud.

III.
The void spits us back.
We carve homes into asteroids,
Holes in rock masquerading as sanctuaries.
Belonging smells like scorched plastic,
Tastes like recycled spit.
You can’t run from zero gravity;
It holds you like a predator.

IV.
We scream into the abyss,
Not for help—
For proof that we’re still alive.
Our voices fracture into waves,
Jagged, brutal,
Tearing through the fabric of nothing.

V.
This is no utopia.
This is exile in a vacuum.
Space eats our echoes.
Stars blink in code we can’t decrypt.
But still, we etch poems on its skin:
Circuits, grids, fractals of hope.
